Join A Virtual Dinner Party With Friends (And Chefs) Abra Berens & Evan Hanczor
By Emily Tyra | April 12, 2021
After her robustly attended winter virtual cooking classes hosted by Leelanau’s four libraries, Abra Berens returns for an encore dinner party, tonight, Monday, April 12, at 7pm.
Acclaimed Michigan chef Abra Berens (also one of Northern Express’s Fascinating People 2021) will talk with a visiting chef over a meal made of recipes from that author’s work. She is sharing cooking insights tonight with Brooklyn chef Evan Hanczor, creator of Table of Contents, a regular reading series that pairs literature and food.
Berens and Hanczor will be talking about the overlap between great food and great literature, the state of the restaurant industry, and the merits of breakfast for dinner.
Tables of Contents has recently released its Community Cookbook to benefit Food Issues Group (FIG).
The featured dish will be the Colombian soup Changua — download the recipe to make your own at home. For recordings of Abra’s previous presentations, click here. All featured recipes from her past presentations are also available here.
Dinner with Friends is brought to you by Glen Lake Community Library, Leland Township Public Library, Suttons Bay Bingham District Library, and Leelanau Township Library.
Register here for this free event, held tonight on Zoom.
