The Leelanau Ticker’s weekly look at the most alarming, offbeat, or otherwise newsworthy calls to the Leelanau Office of Emergency Management/911 dispatch. The following is excerpted from the September 28 to October 6 call reports:

10:38am 09/28/21 Larceny, S. Fredrickson Road, Farm stand crowbar to cash box last night.

1:45pm 09/28/21 Suspicious Incident, Elmwood Twp., Suspicious male came to reporting party’s house looking for her. Stated that he was from their mortgage company and needed to make sure people lived at the home. He knew their mortgage was through Huntington and knew reporting party’s name. She called the bank and they advised that this is not something they do. Reporting party does have footage of him on their ring doorbell.

10:41pm 09/28/21 Suspicious Incident, E. Bellinger Road, Reporting party on the side of the road, advised her friend had been drinking and they pulled off to the side of the road so her husband could come get her. States they do not need any assistance and had been drinking. Female states she did not call 911 even though the reporting party states she did.

10:41pm 09/28/21 Operating While Intoxicated, W. Empire Hwy., Silver Saab. On sobriety. Send hook. One in custody.

12:07am 09/29/21 Motor Vehicle Crash, S. Lake Shore Drive, Had a coyote run into his vehicle causing some damage.

8:32am 09/29/21 Welfare Check, Kasson Twp., 14-year-old reported mom attempted suicide this morning.

9:38am 09/29/21 Suspicious Incident, E. Lincoln Road, Males walking around property supposedly from tree service, looking in her patio windows. Out on power line easement behind house with Cherryland vehicle. Work order from Cherryland, will explain to reporting party.

9:39am 09/29/21 Breathing Problem, S. Lake Shore Drive, Request welfare check on sister and brother-in-law who are COVID positive and they just spoke with reporting party and were barely able to breathe. Reporting party would like an ambulance to check on them. Code: 6-c-1-o: abnormal breathing (other lung problems).

1:17pm 09/29/21 Allergies, S. Kasson Street, Cedar, 5-year-old stung by bee, reporting party taking him to Cedar fire. Out with patient, req MMR. Back en route to MMC.

5:47pm 09/29/21 Neighbor, Glen Arbor, Reporting party and daughter were across the road in the woods and advised one of her neighbors came over and “stormed them” with verbal hatred. Neighbor has been harassing them about the property line based on a survey he had done. Reporting party wants this on record for information.

8:26pm 09/29/21 Traffic Violation, S. West-Bay Shore Drive, Vehicle is following the reporting party after they were cut off at Farm Club. After reporting party cut them off, the vehicle turned around and followed the reporting party into GTCO area. Now on Bay Street. GTCO advised.

8:58pm 09/29/21 Disorderly, N. West-Bay Shore Drive, GTB09/GTB13 received a call who had been drinking and stating there is an out of control party at his house and would like it broken up. Only two people here, both people will leave.

8:25pm 09/30/21 Larceny, N. St Josephs Street, Video footage of someone taking other customers’ food tonight. Reporting party wants to know what her options are. Per 45-21, made contact, he will return tomorrow and pay for the two bags he took from the restaurant.

11:47pm 09/30/21 Operating While Intoxicated, S. Richter Road, Blue chevy cobalt. On sobriety. In custody.

4:38pm 10/01/21 Missing Person, Sleeping Bear Point Trail, Called out by NPS05, assisting a family with locating their autistic child, wearing black shorts and a tee shirt, who ran off from their party. Searching local area for him. Returned safely.

4:45pm 10/01/21 Assist Dept, E. Philip Street and N St Marys Street, Parade detail.

7:34pm 10/01/21 Sick Person, W. Burdickville Road, CDE891 called out at the football game and there is an individual in the crowd that needs some medical assistance.

8:18pm 10/01/21 Citizen Assist, Beach Walk, reporting party’s two-year-old daughter locked them out on the balcony. The whole family was locked on the balcony, was able to get inside and let them back into the residence. Clear.

11:07pm 10/01/21 Suspicious Vehicle, Elmwood Township, 45-23 called out with a vehicle with no plates, two people inside. All kids got rides from their parents. Vehicle will be left in the parking lot until tomorrow.

6:27am 10/02/21 Event, W. Niagara Street, Empire, Sleeping Bear Half Marathon.

12:32pm 10/02/21 Event, S. Wing Street, Parade detail.

12:40pm 10/02/21 Traumatic Injury, W. Niagara Street, Empire, Deer ran through, hit fence, fence hit woman.

3:23pm 10/02/21 Motor Vehicle Crash, E. Eckerle Road and S. Center Street, Red truck ran reporting party off road. Reporting party was going to pass them and they turned in front of reporting party. Turned on Eckerle Road In ditch.

3:44pm 10/02/21 Entrapment, E. Fouch Road, Foot stuck in 4x8 and corner. Needs help lifting plywood in backyard chicken coop. No Injuries. Code: 22-b-2-a: peripheral entrapment only (above ground). Patient has been freed from his confinement.

9:33pm 10/02/21 Miscellaneous Juvenile, S. West-Bay Shore Drive, Reporting party is states someone near Wares Brothers throwing eggs at vehicles. Reporting party was driving through the area when his car was almost hit by an egg so he is not exactly sure of where they were coming from. In the area. Out with a couple individuals that are trying to hide in some bushes.

11:33am 10/03/21 Illegal Hunting, Putnam Road. Has placed a tree stand and trail cameras on her property without permission. Would like the equipment removed and have trespassed.

6:18am 10/04/21 Motor Vehicle Crash, S. Dunns Farm Raod, Reporting party swerved to avoid a deer and went off the road, it is completely off the road. Ford F150. White. Mailbox S. Dunns Farm taken down. Transporting driver to work at the homestead.

12:48pm 10/05/21 Leave Scene of Motor Vehicle Crash, W. Fourth Street, 45-18 called out with for boat accident.

1:17pm 10/06/21 Fire with Lines Arcing, S. West-Bay Shore Drive, Truck pulling shed hit lines. Another caller was behind the vehicle, said he took out another power/cable line south of Suttons Bay. MDOT notified. M-22 shut down.

3:56pm 10/06/21 Missing Person Juvenile, Leland Township, Son took the car to go to school today but skipped school. Reporting party called to say that Snapchat app updated approximately 53 minutes ago in the Cadillac area. Per SP7146, enter him as a voluntary missing juvenile with instructions to whomever may locate him to contact his mother (reporting party). She thinks he may be en route to Nebraska. Investigation and report by MSP. Reporting party called back, she just talked to her son who is in Iowa. Said he was upset earlier, he has since calmed down and is going to sleep tonight and head back home in the morning.

4:11pm 10/06/21 Traffic Violation, W. Western Avenue, Driver has been drinking. Silver Nissan Maxima eastbound. Has dog in car. Slurring, unstable walking. 2nd time coming in like this. Large pupils. Blonde with ponytail and white sweatpants. Unable to locate.

5:22pm 10/06/21 Threats, S. Lacore Road, Rude customer driving white Audi using racial slurs. Subject departed, thinks northbound on M-22, WM, late 40s, shorter hair, 6'. Wearing all gray. Will be on the lookout for him.
