Tour Seven Charming Omena Gardens On Thursday June 30

Omena Garden Walk 2022 — which include the private gardens of Omena residents — takes place rain or shine tomorrow, June 30 from 11am to 4pm. Tickets can be purchased at any of the gardens on the day of the event, for $20 (cash or check only).

This fresh-air garden stroll/fundraiser celebrates the 20th anniversary of Omena Village Preservation Association (OVPA). Proceeds go toward the maintenance of OVPA’s historic properties which are important to preserving the character of Omena.

Gardens on the tour:
Barber Gardens (Chris & Kip) – 1309 Ingalls Bay Road
Cut Loose Farms (Laura Deibel) – 6015 NW Bayshore Drive
Kemper Gardens (Linda & Kim) – 3301 N. Omena Point Road
Mampe Gardens (Kris North & Bob) – 3328 N. Omena Point Road
Morrison Gardens  (Susie & Jim) – 3272 N. Omena Point Road
OVPA Anderson House Gardens  – (Mo Baker, Karma Kunga & Robert Bergdoll) – 5047 NW Bayshore Drive
OVPA Lavender Lane Beach Front – 3015 Omena Point Road

A flag and identifying sign will be posted at each garden. Parking will be available in the Omena Presbyterian Church parking lot on M-22 with roadside parking along Omena Point Road for the gardens west of the village.

Omena was designated as a Historic District and listed on the National Register of Historical Places by the U.S. Department of the interior in 2017. Established in 2002, the Omena Village Preservation Association preserves the mid-19th century charm, beauty and historical significance of the village by saving selected properties. OVPA owns, maintains, and manages these important buildings and properties.
