A Live Mashup Of Literature and Improv Comedy Comes To The Leland Township Library

On Tuesday Sept. 21, Leland Township Library will host the Tilt Think Improv Players for Litflix: a performance that co-mingles literature with improv comedy.

The comdedy event will take place in-person on the lawn of the Leland Library by the Leland River (weather-permitting). Registration is not required — the event is free and all are welcome.

Chelsea Hilton, the library's program coordinator, shares that this interactive performance is suited for adults and older children, with audience suggestions deciding what the improv players perform. “They’ll ask an audience volunteer to describe the plot of their favorite book and the players will take that information and humorously act out that story. Or they might take a well-known story and switch the genre and play on that.”

Whether it’s bending Sense and Sensibility into a SciFi or recreating a fiction novel, they guarantee a lively, hilarious — and highly inaccurate — re-telling.

The basics: Litflix will be Sept 21 at 7pm. BYO chairs and/or blankets to sit on. For more information call 231-256-9152 or visit lelandlibrary.org.
