BLDHD Plans School-Based Vaccine Clinics For 16- and 17-Year-Olds In Leelanau And Benzie

Benzie-Leelanau District Health Department is planning four school-based COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine clinics for all 16–17-year-old students in the district as well as their eligible family members. They will be held at Suttons Bay Public Schools, Glen Lake Community Schools, Frankfort-Elberta Area Schools, and Benzie Central Schools.

Rachel Pomeroy, BLDHD public information officer and public health educator says the health department has sent information to all Benzie and Leelanau schools; their staffs will share with students/families.

Minors need to be accompanied by their parent/guardian or bring a completed "Pre-Immunization Questionnaire and Consent Form" provided by the school(s).

Most other scheduled health department clinics only offer Moderna vaccine which is meant for those 18 years and older.
