Leland Gal Fights High Water With A Main Street Pop-Up

Leland Gal’s shanty in historic Fishtown is battling a surge of high water, so shop owner Maggie Revel Mielczarek is pivoting to a pop-up outdoor market on Leland’s Main Street.

Dawn Fisher of River & Main and Benjamin Maier of Benjamin Maier Ceramics welcomed Revel Mielczarek to set up shop under the gazebo in front of their businesses starting July 1.

Leland Gal's pop-up, nicknamed Leland Gal Under the Arbor, will be open daily. “That means I have an amazing team that will be helping me set up and tear down each day —  it’s wild to think about it — but we can make it elegant and fun and feel fresh every day,” says Revel Mielczarek.

“We have been dealt a crazy hand this season with our shanty’s need for ventilation and lack of dry space,” she says. “I am sincerely grateful for the collaborative effort to help us in this time of need. It’s…beyond.”
