Meet The New Addition To The Leelanau County Sheriff's Office, K-9 Klouse

On Sunday, March 7, Corporal Ryan Lott picked up the Leelanau County Sheriff's Office newest addition, K-9 Klouse from Mid-Michigan Kennels. Corporal Lott and K-9 Klouse will begin handler training on Monday, where, over the course of five weeks, Klouse will be trained in narcotics detection, handler protection, as well as person searches, i.e. elderly citizens or missing children. Klouse was born in Poland and received his original training there before coming recently to his new home in Michigan.

The sheriff's office shared in its announcement that the purchase of Klouse was made possible through the support of a local family "as well as many other donations to the Leelanau County K-9 fund that allows us to operate a K-9 program within the county. A big thank you to all those who have helped support our efforts."
