'Music Moviefest' Kicks Off At The Bay Theatre This Weekend
Hot on the heels of a run of the new Bruce Springsteen biopic, Deliver Me from Nowhere, The Bay Theatre in Suttons Bay is kicking off a “Music Moviefest” film series this weekend that will run through next Thursday. The series includes eight music-related films, and tickets for each are just $7. The full schedule is outlined below.
Friday, November 7 at 4pm: Ray, the 2004 Ray Charles biopic that netted Jamie Foxx a Best Actor Oscar.
Friday, November 7 at 7pm: Stop Making Sense, the legendary Talking Heads concert film from 1984.
Saturday, November 8 at 4pm: Hallelujah: Leonard Cohen, a Journey, a Song, the 2021 documentary about singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen and his oft-covered song, “Hallelujah”
Saturday, November 8 at 7pm: Purple Rain, the 1984 Prince film featuring the music from the classic album of the same name.
Sunday, November 9 at 4pm: The Last Waltz, Martin Scorsese’s 1978 documentary about The Band’s final concert.
Monday, November 10 at 7pm: Coal Miner's Daughter, the 1980 biopic about country star Loretta Lynn, featuring an Oscar-winning lead performance from Sissy Spacek.
Wednesday, November 12 at 7pm: Elvis, the 2022 Elvis Presley biopic directed by Baz Luhrmann and starring Austin Butler and Tom Hanks.
Thursday, November 13 at 7pm: A Hard Day's Night, the 1964 musical comedy starring The Beatles.
