Suttons Bay Sports Boosters Selling Gym Floor

Suttons Bay Sports Boosters will sell pieces of the old middle school gym.

"For generations, Suttons Bay's Old Middle School Gym has served as the heartbeat of our community. It is where three generations of Norsemen played basketball and volleyball games, and participated in cheer, where families gathered to celebrate graduations, and where lifelong memories were etched into the hardwood," the boosters said in a statement. "As the district moves forward with the construction of a brand-new facility to replace the old gym which has fallen into disrepair, the Suttons Bay Sports Boosters are offering a unique opportunity to take those memories home."

The flooring pieces are available in various sizes, with many approximately 5’x5’. Due to the size and
weight of the materials, community members are encouraged to bring a truck and a friend to assist with loading. The Sports Boosters have suggested creative ways to repurpose the wood, including crafting cornhole boards, tables, shelves, or custom frames to display Norsemen pride.

The sale will happen from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, May 30.
