The Leelanau Ticker is back with a look at the most alarming, offbeat, or otherwise newsworthy calls to the Leelanau Office of Emergency Management/911 dispatch. The following is excerpted from the June 17 to June 22 call reports.

2:30pm 6/17/2025 Citizen Assist Leelanau Cty., Large metal shore station boat lift, the caller believes it is a hazard because someone could be swimming and come up and hit it. 

7:13pm 6/17/2025 Animal Control Northport, Caller is reporting a black, shaggy dog running around the area.

1:46am 6/18/2025 Suspicious Vehicle Leelanau Cty., 45-06 Called out with a vehicle, male inside slumped over the wheel. He’s awake and fine, wanted to get some sleep before heading back downstate. 

11:28am 6/18/2025 Suspicious Incident Leland, Caller states there is a tent that has been on the beach since yesterday that may be impeding on her property.

4:25am 6/19/2025 Civil Leelanau Cty., Caller advised her soon to be ex stole her vehicle sometime this morning. 

6:10pm 6/19/2025 Citizen Assist Lake Leelnanu, Black lifted pickup truck has been crossing double yellow line and came within one foot of caller and child.

8:22am 6/20/2025 MVC Lake Leelnanu, Neighbor ran into caller’s garage. 

1:18pm 6/20/2025 Citizen Assist Lake Leelnanu, 45-30 assisting in getting a snapping turtle out of the roadway. 

9:26pm 6/20/2025 Citizen Assist Suttons Bay Twp., Caller is staying at an Airbnb and they found someone else's phone at the residence. They are scared and would like to talk to someone. 

9:31pm 6/20/2025 Suspicious Incident Empire Twp., Caller was walking the bluffs and came across a male walking in the nude. 

9:34pm 6/20/2025 Animal Control Suttons Bay Twp., Neighbor’s dog is constantly barking. 

7:18am 6/21/2025 Citizen Assist Suttons Bay Twp., Tree through house. 

7:32am 6/21/2025 Road Hazard Suttons Bay Twp., Tree totally blocking roadway.

11:14am 6/21/2025 Disorderly Elmwood Twp., Person in backyard, trying to help since May 5th, requires deputy to de-escalate. Yelling at caller in the yard.

4:22pm 6/21/2025 Animal Control Kasson Twp., Information received about a dog in a black car at Buntings. Vehicle not running and windows up. 

12:40am 6/22/2025 Citizen Assist S West-Bay Shore Dr., Caller left his phone in his van, he came back to his van after wedding and the phone is missing and now located in Lake Ann.

11:21am 6/22/2025 Parking Empire Twp., RV parked across five spots in the regular parking area, not in the RV spots.
