The Leelanau Ticker is back with a look at the most alarming, offbeat, or otherwise newsworthy calls to the Leelanau Office of Emergency Management/911 dispatch. The following is excerpted from the November 12 to November 17 call reports. 

11:45am 11/12/2025 Animal Control Suttons Bay Twp., Caller says that horses have not been fed in 5 days. Would like their welfare checked. 

1:52pm 11/12/2025 Unlawful Driving Away Cedar, Possible stolen car. Vehicle missing between 8pm and 6am. 

8:07pm 11/12/2025 Animal Control Maple City, Caller is reporting 6 pitbull-poodle mix puppies and a mother being neglected at this address. 

5:07pm 11/13/2025 Citizen Assist Leelanau Cty., There is someone with a chainsaw cutting live trees.

5:35am 11/14/2025 Fire Wires Down W Harbor Hwy., Caller is reporting something on the ground on fire beneath the telephone pole. Power line down, Consumers notified.

12:08pm 11/14/2025 Harassment Bingham Twp., Lease agent was harassed and would like to speak with law enforcement about it. 

8:25pm 11/14/2025 Leave Scene Empire Twp., Someone backed into his car in the parking lot while he was inside then left.

9:28am 11/15/2025 Larceny Leelanau Twp., Caller advised that someone stole his deer blind off the property and moved it to theirs. Complaint originally put blind on GTB trust property by mistake. It was moved by another individual a few months back. He will retrieve the property. 

5:54pm 11/15/2025 Info Lake Leelnanu, SUV came down the street slowly, saw caller, sped up to stop sign, turned and continued to Suttons Bay. Caller wants it noted that they were speeding through a 25mph zone when church was about to let out.

10:25am 11/17/2025 Dispatch Deer E Traverse Hwy., Doe for dispatch looking a little dazed and confused but has gotten up and ran to the South.

12:40pm 11/17/2025 Citizen Assist Cedar, Says that there is a dispute about a car and two people that “may take it”. Would like assistance sorting it out. 

3:59pm 11/17/2025 Animal Control Leelannau Cty., Adopted a dog, medical issues. General concerns about dogs in facility.
