The Leelanau Ticker is back with a look at the most alarming, offbeat, or otherwise newsworthy calls to the Leelanau Office of Emergency Management/911 dispatch. The following is excerpted from the January 12 to January 15 call reports.

12:07pm 1/12/2026 Animal Control S West-Bay Shore Dr., Found a pit mix, female, white and tan, pink collar. 

10:46am 1/13/2026 Animal Control Maple City, Neighbor’s dog came onto their property, smaller “husky looking” dog. Killed 13 chickens.

7:58pm 1/13/2026 Suspicious Vehicle Leelanau Cty., Neighboring property is under construction and a sedan backed into the driveway. Caller hasn't seen it before, thinks it is suspicious. Just the painter finishing up.

4:49am 1/14/2026 Suspicious Incident Omena, Someone is ringing the doorbell and banging on the door and it started at like 4am. 

9:44am 1/14/2026 Animal Control Elmwood Twp., Husky mix has been wandering around caller’s yard since yesterday wearing a harness. 

10:00am 1/14/2026 Unknown Problem Suttons Bay Twp., Caller reported a person sitting in the ditch. 

12:46pm 1/14/2026 Assist Dept Glen Arbor, At least 4 trucks are parked refusing to move. 

1:19pm 1/14/2026 Animal Control Leelanau Twp., Caller has a neighbor whose dog has been roaming, constantly coming on his property, doing its business everywhere. Would like to speak to animal control about it. 

8:52pm 1/14/2026 Welfare Check S West-Bay Shore Dr., Man walking south towards the east side of the M22 roadway. Caller is concerned because he has been walking “a long time today” and he is “weaving close to traffic” due to the wind. Caller thinks he should be checked on. 

12:11pm 1/15/2026 Info Solon Twp., Cedar fire will be doing ice rescue practice on the lake at Solon Township Park. 

12:25pm 1/15/2026 Animal Control Lake Leelanau, Caller is concerned about 4 cows on the property.
