The Latest Leelanau County Blotter & 911 Call Report

The Leelanau Ticker is back with a look at the most alarming, offbeat, or otherwise newsworthy calls to the Leelanau Office of Emergency Management/911 dispatch. The following is excerpted from the June 1 to June 8 call reports.

2:04am 6/1/2026 Fire Glen Arbor, Fire in at least 3 different residences. Defensive at this time, multiple hand lines going. Personnel requested from Long Lake, Suttons Bay, Homestead. Tankers also requested if possible. Consumers has power off to the building, DTE will need to dig to turn the gas off. Fire is under control, no further status. 

5:12am 6/1/2026 Alarm E Cherry Bend Rd., Appears there was an attempted break and enter. 

12:19pm 6/1/2026 Suspicious Incident Leelanau Cty., Caller is the caretaker of the property and is noticing strange things happening. 

6:03pm  6/2/2026 Citizen Assist S West-Bay Shore Dr., Volunteers rescuing baby eagles. Concerned about them popping out of the woods into traffic.

8:45am 6/3/2026 Citizen Assist Leland Twp., Man buried a box of suspicious items. 

9:00am 6/3/2026 Larceny Cedar, Person that was staying there took large amounts of cash. 

4:04pm 6/3/2026 Traffic Violation E Grandview Rd., Caller is very concerned about speeders on Grandview Rd.

9:32pm 6/3/2026 Larceny Solon Twp., Caller believes his lime spreader has been stolen. 

9:57pm 6/3/2026 OWI Centerville Twp., Car on fire in front of the house. 

3:15am 6/5/2026 Noise DH Day Group Campground, Reporting that there are rowdy kids in a site nearby. Would like a ranger to ask them to quiet down.

3:37pm 6/5/2026 Fire Leelanau Cty., Paradise Cove campground, boat is on fire. 

1:38pm 6/6/2026 MDOP Leelanau Cty., Multiple storage units had locks broken off. Caller advised her lock had been broken off and another lock was placed on her storage unit and now she cannot get in.

5:45pm 6/6/2026 Traffic Violation Solon Twp., Dirt bikes driven by teens going up and down the road at a high rate of speed and very loud for several hours a day. 

6:33pm 6/7/2026 MDOP Leland Twp., Caller went outside this morning and his tires had been slashed.
