The Leelanau Ticker is back with a look at the most alarming, offbeat, or otherwise newsworthy calls to the Leelanau Office of Emergency Management/911 dispatch. The following is excerpted from the June 29 to July 4 call reports.

11:04am 6/29/2026 Found Property Glen Arbor, Kayak in the middle of the lake and can’t see anyone around. Moving towards private property. 

10:20pm 6/29/2026 Suspicious Person Leelanau Cty., Caller had someone come up and hit his door, when he looked outside he saw someone coming out of the vacant house.

12:31pm 6/30/2026 Animal Control Northport, Male yorkshire terrier, wearing an avengers collar, named Coco, has been missing since last Sunday.

1:31pm 6/30/2026 Civil Elmwood Twp., Neighbor is yelling obscenities at her husband while he is mowing.

3:22pm 6/30/2026 Larceny Suttons Bay Twp., Guy in green Jeep took a package from their porch.

11:44am 7/1/2026 Road Hazard Leland Twp., UPS called about a tree in the road. Good samaritan cut it up and moved it.

8:33pm 7/1/2026 Fire Lines Arcing Suttons Bay Twp., Tree on line, tree is burning, smoke and flames. Consumers on scene. 

5:35am 7/2/2026 Road Hazard Kasson Twp., Caller worried about hazard with the neighbor. States that it is a huge ongoing hazard and that the driveway washes out into the road, states that road commission needs to do something about it immediately. 

7:50am 7/2/2026 Motor Vehicle Crash Suttons Bay Twp., VW Atlas in the water out about 20 ft.

1:39pm 7/2/2026 Citizen Assist Leelanau Cty., Citizen concerned for a woman sleeping on her porch. 

11:23pm 7/2/2026 Animal Control W Front St., Dachshund was let out this morning and has not returned. Female, green collar. 

7:19am 7/3/2026 Disorderly N West-bay Shore Dr., Subject is beating on caller’s door to get inside. 

10:23pm 7/3/2026 Assist Dept Leelanau Cty., Report of teenagers throwing fireworks into crowds of people. 

7:47am 7/4/2026 Citizen Assist Leland Twp., Owner nearby is using his address for events and the delivery trucks are tearing up the road. 

8:13pm 7/4/2026 MIP N Front St., Two people sitting in black Toyota across from library, male got out and urinated on the street.
