The Latest Leelanau County Blotter & 911 Call Report

The Leelanau Ticker is back with a look at the most alarming, offbeat, or otherwise newsworthy calls to the Leelanau Office of Emergency Management/911 dispatch. The following is excerpted from the July 13 to July 18 call reports.

12:41am 7/13/2026 Suspicious Person S West-Bay Shore Dr., Caller saw an aged man wandering around the road. Thought it was strange and wanted it checked out. 

12:56pm 7/13/2026 WC Misc Leland, 4 pontoons anchored in front of her house. Caller asked them to leave and they refused. 

10:43pm 7/15/2026 Suspicious Incident Glen Arbor, Car pulled alongside caller’s driveway, group of intoxicated kids got out to urinate.

3:39pm 7/16/2026 Civil Suttons Bay Twp., Caller complaining that subject parks their vehicle in designated ‘Customers Only’ parking spots. 

8:27pm 7/16/2026 Info N West-Bay Shore Dr., Truck dumping cherries in roadway. 

11:34am 7/17/2026 Fail Report Glen Arbor Twp., Vehicle ran into a shop yesterday. 

3:38pm 7/17/2026 Animal Control Glen Arbor Twp., Second sighting of a bear. Bear was last seen going towards the woods north of town.  

1:53am 7/18/2026 Suspicious Incident Leelanau Cty., Caller heard a knock at the back door then a knock on the window. All windows and doors locked. Sees lights moving around neighbor’s property. 

1:24am 7/18/2026 Trespassing Lake Leelanau, Needs a customer trespassed, driving very fast through the park, ran into caller. 

12:38pm 7/18/2026 WC Sunk Leelanau Cty., Pontoon boak sinking, 7 people on board. They are taking on water. Everyone was able to find lifevest. Being pushed toward Power Island. Requesting tow boat, occupants being brought to shore.

9:34pm 7/18/2026 Noise E Kasson Rd., Caller reporting gunfire that has been going on all day.
