The Leelanau Ticker is back with a look at the most alarming, offbeat, or otherwise newsworthy calls to the Leelanau Office of Emergency Management/911 dispatch. The following is excerpted from the July 24 to August 2 call reports.

3:18am 7/24/2026 Suspicious Incident Leelanau Twp., Someone outside is using her hose, the well pump keeps going on.

7:53am 7/24/2026 Suspicious Person Lake Leelanau, Older woman laying in caller’s garden telling her dog to be quiet. Person left before arrival, patrolling the area.

6:28pm 7/25/2026 Parking Suttons Bay Twp., Says a man in a black VW parked in handicapped parking and was clearly not handicapped and has no plate or card. 

10:29am 7/26/2026 Citizen Assist Northport Marina Caller is going to have church in marina park. Stating that the “transient” is loitering in the marina.

5:37pm 7/26/2026 Suspicious Person S West-Bay Shore Dr., Young female driving a Toyota Highlander yelling at people. 

4:55am 7/27/2026 Suspicious Incident Centerville Twp., Caller’s neighbor is screaming in the backyard and has woken up most of the neighborhood. Unsure of what is going on.

11:57am 7/28/2026 Trespassing Lake Leelanau, Someone on his property to hand out a flyer and walked into his garage. 

4:06pm 7/29/2026 Larceny Bingham Twp., Paver stones were stolen from residence today. 

2:44pm 7/31/2026 Stolen Property Northport, Mountain bike was taken from between public restroom and playground. 

7:44pm 7/31/2026 Road Hazard Lake Leelnanu, Wole container of siding nails scattered across roadway. 

11:04pm 7/31/2026 Suspicious Incident Maple City, Caller hears a man screaming in the woods to the north. Will both be on foot making our way. Someone out with a flashlight. Not finding anything suspicious.

10:58pm 8/1/2026 Suspicious Person S West-Bay Shore Dr., Caller was picking up his vehicle from the parking lot and advised there was a homeless man under the pavilion, yelling and throwing water bottles at him. 

7:58pm 8/2/2026 Info Empire Twp., Caller is reporting 2 dirt bikes going “around and around” on a residential or business property and it’s so loud that she can’t even make a phone call.
