The Leelanau Ticker's look at the most alarming, offbeat, or otherwise newsworthy calls to the Leelanau Office of Emergency Management/911 dispatch. The following is excerpted from the June 6 to June 16 call reports:

9:10AM 06/06/21 Civil Dispute S. West Bay Shore Drive, Says she has a shared driving easement to the beach and one of the parties has fenced off access. She has a copy of the easement.  

9:43AM 06/06/21 OWI E. Fouch Road and S. Bugai Road, 45-02 called in, currently behind a burgundy pickup, it’s all over the road. Driver is intoxicated. One in custody.

7:18PM 06/06/21 Motor Vehicle Crash S. West Bay Shore Drive, Deputies from the Leelanau County Sheriff's Office along with EMS units from Suttons Bay/Bingham Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle crash in the 1300 Block of S. West Bay Shore Drive. Deputies determined that a 2010 black Kia had been traveling north when a 2004 Ford Pick-up made a left turn in front of them. The three female passengers in the Kia and the two male passengers in the pickup were all transported to Munson Medical Center for their injuries. The Ford truck failed to yield the right-of-way and a citation was issued to the driver. The investigation is closed; alcohol was not a factor.

11:05AM 06/09/21 Motor Vehicle Crash S. West Bay Shore Drive, Two car crash; fluids leaking from vehicle. Traffic diverted to center lane.

3:34AM 06/10/21 Suspicious Incident D.H. Day Campground, Reporting party sees a hole in her tent, thinks there may be an animal inside her tent. Now walking out to the car. No animal.

5:41PM 06/10/21 Larceny, N. Lake Street, Reporting theft of golf cart and charger from residence. Dark blue golf cart, M-22 sticker.

7:13PM 06/10/21 Watercraft Miscellaneous N. Manitou Trail, Reporting activity on the lake that is too loud/going on too long: there are volleyball nets on the lake in front of Clay Cliffs and a boat is anchored there playing music since 2pm.

7:23PM 06/10/21 OWI E. Traverse Highway, Eastbound on M-72, just west of Hayloft, vehicle in the ditch. Grey Chevy with female inside. She was driving recklessly before she went into the ditch on the southbound side of M-72. One in custody.

8:20PM 06/10/21 Trespassing S. Lake Leelanau Drive, Reporting party is reporting neighbor is cutting his trees to better their view; he would like them spoken to.

9:15PM 06/10/21 Vehicle in Ditch S. Maple City Road, Male in black pickup in ditch. Reporting party stopped to check on him and he seemed okay. Vehicle was out of the ditch on arrival. He swerved for an animal.

11:10AM 06/12/21 Retail Fraud, W. Western Avenue, Woman was in last week, they suspected her of stealing, and confirmed on surveillance cameras. Woman was there again today.

4:44PM 06/12/21 Drowning N. Popp Road, Caller Statement: DROWNING. Code: 14-A-1: Alert and breathing normally (no injuries and out of water).

5:04PM 06/12/21 OWI S. Glen Lake Road, Intoxicated Boater. Blue and Green Sea-Doo, black shirt, neon shorts, hat, flying through no-wake zone, could not keep conversation, almost hit pontoon/rocks. Headed towards Little Glen. Request marked car to meet at Little Glen Boat Launch. One in custody.

1:37PM 06/13/21 Road Hazard Glen Lake Narrows, People who are jumping off the bridge have parked at least four vehicles at the entrance to the bridge causing a traffic hazard. No one jumping on arrival; cars are parked legally.

12:26AM 06/14/21 Suspicious Incident S. Good Harbor Trail, Someone stalking reporting party’s home. A gentleman in a green Jeep followed reporting party off the lake and her husband confronted him. He accused reporting party’s cousin on following him which they were not. Suspect vehicle left southbound on County Road 651.

12:54AM 06/14/21 Motor Vehicle Crash S. French Road, Reporting party’s son was at friend’s house and someone rammed into son’s vehicle and is following him to reporting party’s house. Was at a bonfire with friend, says a green Jeep with a Spartan’s license plate was following him. Pulled over and driver of green Jeep threatened him. Driver of the Jeep called and he advised that he was rear ended by a black Ford pickup. He is now at home.

10:40AM 06/16/21 Structure Fire W. Ryant Road, Can see smoke from Cedar. Per 45-30 the cattle are out and secure. Setting up waterpoint at School Lake on Bohemian Road. Consumers notified; power turned off. Request for an excavator. American Red Cross contacted; requested canteen services for 25-30 personnel on scene.

10:07PM 06/16/21 Motor Vehicle Crash/Rollover S. Kasson Street, Burgundy Jeep SUV flipped on its roof. Driver is out and walking around.

10:56PM 06/16/21 Fireworks, N. West Bay Shore Drive, GTB13 called out with a fireworks complaint.
