Tim Allen To Host Special Screening of “Galaxy Quest” At The Bay Theatre July 21
The Bay Theatre in Suttons Bay expects a sold-out show for its screening of "Galaxy Quest" with Tim Allen. Organizers say more tickets were just released for the July 21 show at 7:30pm (doors at 6:30pm).
Tim Allen will host a special showing of the iconic 1999 feel-good comedy “Galaxy Quest.” Allen, who stars in the critically acclaimed movie, will appear on stage prior to the showing, share insights about the making of Galaxy Quest, take questions, and have autographed memorabilia for a few lucky audience members.
“Galaxy Quest is one of those rare movies to become a cult classic so to have the star, Tim Allen, live on the stage at The Bay to present it to us is very special.” says Rick Andrews, president of The Bay Community Theatre.
During this special event, The Bay plans to launch its next fundraising campaign, which will allow for the nonprofit theater to replace its 76-year-old seats. The updated seats still have a vintage aesthetic, designed and built by Michigan’s own Irwin Seating Company.
Galaxy Quest is a rated-PG film which follows the stars of a 1970s sci-fi show — now scraping a living through re-runs and sci-fi conventions — as they are beamed aboard an alien spacecraft. The band of aliens turn to the celebrities for help in their quest to overcome the oppressive regime in their solar system.
It stars Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman, Tony Shalhoub, and Sam Rockwell.
Tickets are $40, with a maximum four tickets per customer. For more information, visit thebaytheatre.com
