Glen Lake Chamber Rolls Out ‘SHOPtober’ Campaign

By Craig Manning | Oct. 3, 2025

Now that the summer rush is in the rearview, the Glen Lake Chamber of Commerce is launching a new promotional campaign to boost support for local businesses. This week, the chamber announced “SHOPtober,” a campaign that will run for the rest of the month at participating Glen Arbor area businesses. Customers who spend $350 or more at participating businesses will be entered into a drawing to win gift certificates to local shops and restaurants.

Patrons don’t need to spend that much money at one place to be entered in the sweepstakes. Instead, customers are encouraged to save their receipts from Glen Arbor businesses dated October 1-31. Once those receipts add up to $350 or more, the customer can put them in an envelope and submit them to the Glen Lake Chamber to be entered into the drawing. Each person can enter the sweepstakes up to three times, meaning that the more people spend, the better their chances of winning the prize.

Receipts are due by November 5, and can be dropped off at M22 in Glen Arbor or mailed to the chamber at PO Box 217, Glen Arbor, MI 49636. Two winners will then be drawn and announced “after November 10 via the Glen Lake Chamber’s Facebook, Instagram, and e-newsletter.” The prize is Glen Arbor Bucks, which can be used at most area businesses.
