Leelanau Conservation District’s Fall Seedling And Beach Grass Sale Is On
By Emily Tyra | Sept. 4, 2020
The Leelanau Conservation District’s fall seedling and beach grass sale is on now through November 4.
Says Karen Long of the Leelanau Conservation District (LCD): “Now is the time to plant conifer seedlings and transplants. In addition to being good for the environment, they are useful as a windbreak, to help with erosion, for landscaping, or you can plant one to be your Christmas tree someday.”
Conifer seedlings and transplants are available, as well American beach grass in bundles of 100 plugs.
The LCD holds seedling sales as bi-annual fundraisers to support programming and Leelanau County's natural resources. To order fall seedlings and beach grass, download and complete the Leelanau Conservation District’s fall seedling sale order form, and email, mail, or drop off to the LCD office.
Long says orders are shipped directly to customers' doorsteps, with a minimum shipping charge of $30. Additional cost for shipping large orders will be billed later. Contact the LCD office at 231-256-9783 or email klong@co.leelanau.mi.us with questions.
