Leelanau County Home Sales Once Again Outstrip Previous Records
May 21, 2021
Last month saw 40 home sales in Leelanau, which topped all previous Aprils. The dollar volume of $18,720,543 and subsequent average sale price of $468,013 also surpassed all previous records. The closest month in the number of sales, dollar volume and average price was April 2018, at 37 sales for $16,737,610, an average of $452,367.
Last year’s April figures were skewed by the pandemic and state-issued Stay At Home orders. There were some sales already in the pipeline, and all told there were 31 home sales in April 2020 for $11,220,250, an average of $361,943.
Last month’s sales figures were in keeping with heavy sales and high dollar levels in the other four counties served by Aspire North (formerly the Traverse Area Association of Realtors). Overall, last month saw 261 sales totaling $107,157,221 in the five-county region, far above any previous records. The next highest total was $69,966,020 in April 2018.
