Leelanau Fiber Project Gets Its 1,000th Customer
By Craig Manning | Aug. 30, 2024
Leelanau County’s in-progress fiber internet buildout hit a big milestone this week: the 1,000th customer to join the network.
Point Broadband, the county’s fiber installation partner, announced this week that it had “just connected our 1,000th customer in beautiful Leelanau County.” The news comes almost exactly one year after Point Broadband connected its very first Leelanau customer.
Last month, Point Broadband and the Leelanau Internet Futures Team (LIFT) announced that fiber sign-ups in the county were accelerating significantly, reaching “a pace of 100 new connections a week” this summer.
“Thank you to this amazing community for your continued support and trust in us to bring fast, reliable internet to your homes and businesses,” Point Broadband said in a Facebook post commemorating the news. “We are committed to keeping you connected to what matters most. Here’s to many more milestones together!”
