Leelanau Investing For Teens (LIFT) is teaming up with the Bahle Farms golf course in Suttons Bay for a summertime fundraiser.

The nonprofit, which provides outside-of-school programming for students at all of Leelanau County’s school districts, recently announced “Golf Fore LIFT,” a one-day fundraiser scheduled for Thursday, July 17. For the entirety of that day, 10 percent of all public greens fees collected at Bahle Farms be donated to LIFT. In addition, the pro shop at Bahle Farms will also be stocking LIFT apparel that day, with proceeds going to LIFT as well.

“We’re incredibly grateful to Bahle Farms for hosting this event and showing up for local youth,” said Audrey Luksch, LIFT’s associate director. “This is a powerful example of what community collaboration can look like: local businesses and neighbors coming together to invest in the next generation.”

LIFT is currently in the midst of an expansion. The organization announced this past spring that it would be rolling out a newly formalized partnership with Leland Public Schools. Previously, LIFT had been full time at Suttons Bay, Glen Lake, and Northport schools, but had only done an “exploratory year” at Leland. Under the new partnership, LIFT hired a program coordinator for Leland Middle School and will have a dedicated space at the middle school starting this fall. The LIFT programming at Leland will start out just for middle school students, but will expand to the high school over time.
