Mr. Hoxie’s Garage Settles Suttons Bay’s School Lunch Debt

Dec. 18, 2020

In celebration of their fifth year in business, owners of Mr. Hoxie’s Garage in Suttons Bay, Grant and Kris Hoxie, wanted the opportunity to give back to the community that supports them.

Mr. Hoxie’s Garage has gifted $2,033.99 to Suttons Bay Public Schools to eliminate the school lunch debt for elementary, middle school and high school students.

“This year of learning has been like no other for our families, staff and students,” says Suttons Bay Public Schools Superintendent Casey Petz. “We are so grateful for the support shown by Mr. Hoxie’s Garage to ease the financial burden on families by paying off the school lunch debt just before the holidays. We all need a break right now and this generous gesture will certainly help us to ‘Spread Some Joy’ to Suttons Bay families this year.”

Grant Hoxie added, “The last thing a kid should have to worry about is being able to afford eating breakfast and lunch; we aim to do our part in helping to eliminate that obstacle.”
