Seven Leelanau Grads Awarded A Total Of $19,770 From Leelanau Township Community Foundation

Seven graduating seniors from Leelanau County were awarded $19,770 in scholarships from ten Leelanau Township Community Foundation funds. Those scholarship awardees are:

Ciara Glynn of St. Mary School in Suttons Bay received the Anson & Ruth Solem Science Scholarship and plans to attend Boston College.

Arielle Jean of Traverse City West Public School was also chosen to receive the Anson & Ruth Solem Science Scholarship. She plans attend the University of Michigan.

Isabel Kricher of Northport Public School was chosen to receive the Edwin Suddard and Ruth Kellogg Suddard Scholarship and the Florence F. Evett Scholarship and will be attending Central Michigan University this fall.

Emily Reynolds of Northport Public School received the Florence Hanes Scholarship, and she plans to attend Michigan State University.

Wyatt Sahs of Northport Public School received the Dr. James Kolberg Medical Scholarship. He will attend Loyola University.

Henry Stanton from Northport Public School received the Annette Viger Taber Memorial Scholarship, as well as the Faye Dinsmore Memorial Scholarship and the George W. and Carolyn Travis Anderson Family Community Scholarship. He plans to attend the Great Lakes Culinary Institute at Northwestern Michigan College.

Sophia Stowe of Northport Public School was awarded the Kreig Leabo Memorial Scholarship. She was also chosen the receive the Winfield H. and Dr. Grace Song Line Scholarship. She will be attending Michigan State University.

The Leelanau Township Community Foundation (LTCF) is the third oldest community foundation in the state, created in 1945, and has provided grants and assisted with numerous community projects and nonprofits in Leelanau Township as well as administering scholarships for local graduates.
