The Leelanau Ticker is back with a look at the most alarming, offbeat, or otherwise newsworthy calls to the Leelanau Office of Emergency Management/911 dispatch. The following is excerpted from the May 27 to June 2 call reports.

7:19am 5/27/2025 Dispatch Deer Suttons Bay Twp., Deer keeps running into building, caller states the deer appears to have two broken legs. 

3:37pm 5/27/2025 Harassment Leelanau Cty., Neighbor keeps coming over to his property. Would like to have the neighbor trespassed. 

10:46pm 5/27/2025 Suspicious Person E Traverse Hwy., Westbound lane, guy walking on the shoulder, possibly has a limp, has a hockey helmet and shoulder pads.

8:29am 5/28/2025 Traffic Violation Lake Leelanau, Every day around 07:15 silver Chevy Colorado speeding over 80mph and passing recklessly. 

8:26am 5/29/2025 Noise Northport, Generator running through the night creating a noise nuisance.

10:55am 5/29/2025 Unknown Problem N West-Bay Shore Dr., Passerby reported a man slumped over his lawn mower.

6:47pm 5/29/2025 Suspicious Incident E Traverse Hwy., A bunch of kids climbed up onto cell tower and are jumping around and climbing and have ropes hanging. It is linemen working on the tower. 

12:15am 5/30/2025 Citizen Assist Suttons Bay Twp., Friend was dropped off at residence passed out in the driveway. 

1:45pm 5/30/2025 Vehicle Ditch S West-Bay Shore Dr., Passerby reported a car in ditch actively trying to get out. Was very muddy and they weren’t having much luck.

11:32pm 5/30/2025 Miscellaneous Cedar, Report of a dead bear cub near the end of the driveway. Mama bear reported to be in the area with a live cub in tow. Will attempt to make contact with an officer and biologist to respond to the scene. We have the cub, mom is quite agitated and will probably be hanging around for a few days.

11:26am 5/31/2025 Assist Dept Leelanau Cty., Got a call that a man is not safe in his house. Would like a wellness check.

4:29pm 5/31/2025 Neighbor Cedar, Neighbor is out screaming and yelling at neighbors. Screaming from upper deck at people.

8:39am 6/1/2025 Animal Control Suttons Bay Twp., Newfoundland dog found in yard, black and white, no collar, no tags. Little dirty. Being slightly aggressive with her dogs.

10:09am 6/1/2025 Unknown Problem E Grandview Rd., On the Tart Trail, woman acting strangely, barefoot, her ear muffs on, laying down on bicycle. Subject is alert and oriented, she was out enjoying the sun. She is on her way.

3:28pm 6/2/2025 Fire Smoke Solon Twp., Horse farm, manure fire may be behind barn, no flames visible.
