The Leelanau Ticker is back with a look at the most alarming, offbeat, or otherwise newsworthy calls to the Leelanau Office of Emergency Management/911 dispatch. The following is excerpted from the June 3 to June 9 call reports.

4:27am 6/3/2025 Suspicious Incident Grelickville, Someone outside her bedroom door.

11:40am 6/3/2025 Info Cleveland Twp., Caller takes care of a house and there were two males in a white pickup and seemed to be looking over the house. 

3:03pm 6/3/2025 WC Misc S West-Bay Shore Dr., 20 ft sailboat seems to be struggling. Just lowered sail. ¼ mile out white single mast pulling dinghy. Caller advised they seem to be heading in but are 600 feet from shore. Coastguard called back and stated that they spoke with caller and that they are not in distress.

9:53am 6/4/2025 Found Property W Harbor Hwy., Delivering portable bathroom units, gun barrel found while cleaning.

6:21pm 6/4/2025 Suspicious Person Empire Twp., Out with individual cutting down trees in the park.

8:47am 6/5/2025 Animal Control Solon Twp., Dog runs into the road when caller drives by.

12:43pm 6/5/2025 Animal Control Cedar, Two bulls in the road, one veered off into a field, one continued eastbound. Cows are off roadway. 

12:23pm 6/6/2025 Animal Control Leelanau Cty., Dog next door is whining and crying. 

2:58pm 6/6/2025 Animal Control Leelanau Cty., Dog in apartment barking and howling for 10 hours. Owners are not home. Contacted apartment manager and they are not doing anything. 

10:49am 6/7/2025 Citizen Assist Leelnaanu Twp., Vehicle is gone, caller left it in the driveway near the residence on the farm where she lives. Last saw the vehicle at 10pm last night.

4:09pm 6/7/2025 Info Lake Leelanau, Caller looked up and saw a white seaplane that she's seen fly overhead for 30 years with what appeared to be only one float. It just flew overhead and there were two floats.

9:58am 6/8/2025 Info Lake Leelnanau, Called was yelled at by a man in his 60’s walking a brown dog. Was swearing at him and his wife, doesnt need to see an officer but will call back if approached again on the way back.

12:14pm 6/9/2025 Suspicious Incident Cedar, Bus driver missed a stop, so parent decided to follow the bus in her vehicle and stop the bus with her car and board the bus. 

6:21pm 6/9/2025 Citizen Assist Leelanau Cty., Concerned that there were strange men in the neighborhood.
