The Leelanau Ticker is back with a look at the most alarming, offbeat, or otherwise newsworthy calls to the Leelanau Office of Emergency Management/911 dispatch. The following is excerpted from the July 1 to July 6 call reports.

1:03am 7/1/2025 Family Trouble Elmwood Twp., Caller would like assistance de-escalating a situation with his wife.

2:35pm 7/1/2025 Citizen Assist Leelanau Cty., Caller came to the lobby wanting to speak to a deputy about a “dispute”. 

3:26pm 7/1/2025 Neighbor Cedar, Neighbor has been harassing contractor and now contractor will not come back.

9:40am 7/2/2025 Larceny N West-Bay Shore Dr., House cleaner took linens and refuses to return them.

9:41pm 7/2/2025 Citizen Assist Leland, Caller got locked in the restroom and cannot get the door open. 

10:15am 7/3/2025 Animal Control W Harbor Hwy., Dark F-150, a dog appears to be panting inside. No one around, car is not on. Caller would like the dog checked on.

3:56pm 7/3/2025 Citizen Assist S Stocking Scenic Dr., Caller is stuck halfway between the top and bottom of the dunes. Declines assistance. Stated he is okay and thinks he can make it up.

9:04pm 7/3/2025 Traffic Violation Leelanau Cty., String of Corvettes going back and forth on 22 speeding, at least 3.

7:47am 7/4/2025 WC Hazard Leelanau Cty., Caller sees a pontoon adrift with no one on it, dark in color, near Fudgie Beach.

8:04pm 7/4/2025 WC Capsize Suttons Bay Twp., Tin boat upside down with two people clinging to it. Caller will head out from his home on a jet ski with a couple of life jackets. Update: Looks like four jetskis in the water towing boat back, will be checking on it. Sounds like everyone is out of the water.

10:34pm 7/4/2025 Suspicious Incident Suttons Bay Twp., Caller reporting a disturbance outside his home, sounds like a lot of pounding. 

12:35pm 7/5/2025 Leave Scene MVC Lake Leelnanau, Mailbox has been taken out seemingly in the last hour. There are tire tracks in the yard and vehicle debris as well. 

1:10pm 7/5/2025 Larceny Leelanau Cty., Someone took her bike out of the yard, they have camera footage from around 2am. Caller has photos of bike. 

3:05pm 7/5/2025 Citizen Assist Glen Arbor Twp., Adult son is screaming. 

10:15pm 7/5/2025 Fireworks S Stocking Scenic Dr., Launching fireworks on dunes and driving through Pierce Stocking shooting fireworks from vehicles.

5:13pm 7/6/2025 MDOP S West-Bay Shore Dr., Disorderly male banging on all the windows, trying to get into the doors. 

11:46pm 7/6/2025 Fireworks Empire Twp., Caller reporting kids throwing fireworks in his yard.
