The Leelanau Ticker is back with a look at the most alarming, offbeat, or otherwise newsworthy calls to the Leelanau Office of Emergency Management/911 dispatch. The following is excerpted from the July 22 to July 28 call reports.

9:14am 7/22/2025 Suspicious Incident Glen Arbor Twp., Few hundred feet south, sign to notify trail users to pay attention to what’s around you– when caller went by it was on fire. He put it out with his water bottle. 

9:07pm 7/22/2025 WC Found Lake Leelanau, Silver pontoon found in the middle of south Lake Leelnanu. 

12:12pm 7/24/2025 Break Enter E Cherry Bend Rd., Someone tried to walk into caller’s home, her two dogs were baring and she walked into the entry way and saw him coming in the front door. 

4:42pm 7/24/2025 Larceny Vehicle Leelanau Cty., Caller believes gas was siphoned from her vehicle. Missing about seven gallons of gas.

6:34pm 7/24/2025 Larceny Bingham Twp., Caller is packing to move and isn’t finding a firearm. 

3:19am 7/25/2025 Suspicious Incident N Lighthouse Point Rd., Caller is reporting hearing a woman screaming, she couldnt make out exactly what the issue was but it sounded like she was in distress. 

12:28pm 7/25/2025 Assault Suttons Bay Twp., Called out at this address with an assault-like situation reported to him. 

2:18pm 7/25/2025 Suspicious Vehicle S Good Harbor Trl., Universal help sign out of their window with kids in the vehicle. Caller states they may just be playing around but they repeated the sign multiple times out of the side of the window.

5:42pm 7/25/2025 Suspicious Incident E Cherry Bend Rd., Car pulled off onto Dalzell, 4 or 5 persons got out and were walking along Cherry Bend. 

7:20pm 7/25/2025 Animal Control Bingham Twp., Medium sized dog, possibly golden retriever, walking down the road. Looks to be in poor shape and is limping a little.

10:56pm 7/25/2025 Neighbor Leelanau Cty., Neighbor threw cat feces in her yard.

11:24am7/26/2025 Trespassing Lake Leelanau, Man defecated on the sidewalk. 

3:59pm 7/26/2025 Info Leelnanu Cty., Employees are using meth.

1:45am 7/27/2025 Fight N West-Bay Shore Dr., Fight in the parking lot, 2-3 males. Security advised the whole group left in a black SUV northbound. 

3:03pm 7/27/2025 Harassment N West-Bay Shore Dr., Caller wants to report getting harassed last night. 

1:34pm 7/28/2025 MDOP Cedar, Has been having ongoing issues with neighbor across the street since he has been building house, over the weekend several contractors as well as caller and caller’s son had flat tires from nails being thrown at the end of the driveway.
