The Leelanau Ticker is back with a look at the most alarming, offbeat, or otherwise newsworthy calls to the Leelanau Office of Emergency Management/911 dispatch. The following is excerpted from the September 15 to September 21 call reports.

12:33pm 9/15/2025 Civil Suttons Bay Twp., Has a problem with shipping an item to the wrong address and now can’t get it back from them. 

3:38pm 9/15/2025 Larceny Maple City, Black 4wheeler is missing. Per 45-17 this was a parking break issue, rolled down the hill. 

10:40am 9/17/2025 Civil Leelanau Cty., Caller’s neighbor has, over the years, harassed and bullied by cutting the grass on the access road and applying weed killer on the easement. Caller has the survey maps showing property lines and neighbor has gone over the lines with weed killer and mowing causing damage to garden and trees.  

10:52am 9/17/2025 Trespassing Empire Twp., Male is standing on the beach in front of caller’s house, he has some stuff set down on the sand and has been cursing and being belligerent to the caller. 

2:41pm 9/17/2025 Animal Control Suttons Bay Twp., Car parked in the sun with windows down 4 inches, largish doodle type dog barking. Caller believes the dog could be dead in 20 minutes. Made contact with caller, female was leaving upon arrival, she states she was there 10 minutes, dog looked just fine. 

7:34pm 9/17/2025 Suspicious Incident S West-Bay Shore Dr., Caller is reporting 2 men in a red Saturn looking suspicious. Caller is worried they were up to something. 

9:29am 9/18/2025 Larceny Suttons Bay Twp., Farm equipment stolen. Happened last night. They did observe a red truck at the location last night. 

12:02pm 9/18/2025 Civil Maple City, Woman accusing caller of stealing stuff and breaking into her house and sending her death threats. 

11:10am 9/19/2025 Animal Control Leelanau Cty., Caller is calling to report cattle at this location looking thin and “you can see their bones and hips" “they are hungry”.

4:15pm 9/19/2025 Traffic Violation S West-Bay Shore Dr., Caler has someone following him after waiting in line for half an hour. He is in a pickup truck tailgating - he is mad that the caller wouldn’t let him in.

12:16pm 9/20/2025 Suspicious Incident Leelanau Cty., Suitcase by the dumpster. Has someone’s belongings and prescriptions. 

3:28pm 9/20/2025 Motor Assist S West-Bay Shore Dr., Driving a brand new Ford Truck and he is stuck in traffic and cannot get the vehicle to move.

5:35pm 9/21/2025 Trespassing Empire Twp., Neighbor keeps trespassing on her property, She has talked to him in the past about it and posted signs. Today he was on her property with a mower, wants him formally trespassed.
