The Latest Leelanau County Blotter & 911 Call Report

The Leelanau Ticker is back with a look at the most alarming, offbeat, or otherwise newsworthy calls to the Leelanau Office of Emergency Management/911 dispatch. The following is excerpted from the October 14 to October 20 call reports.

1:34am 10/14/2025 Suspicious Vehicle S West-Bay Shore Dr., Checking on a vehicle in the parking lot. Restaurant employee taking a nap after work.

1:37am 10/17/2025 911 Hangup West-Bay Shore Dr., Number called twice before abandoning, did not ring back upon call back. No apparent emergency, no one coming to the door.

3:18pm 10/17/2025 Info E Traverse Hwy., Obscured temporary tag, an older 4 door sedan was following very closely. This happened at least twice in the past week, same vehicle, same circumstances. 

12:21pm 10/18/2025 Animal Control Maple City, Three calls about a dying skunk near the shed causing distress among enthusiasts. 

7:11pm 10/18/2025 Suspicious Person Suttons Bay Twp., Man with dog has been talking to himself for a few hours in the alley. 

2:16pm 10/19/2025 Suspicious Incident Leelanau Cty., Caller is reporting that she heard sound last night. Then at 2pm today caller is reporting a possible bullet hole in front window and belives the projectile passed through cupboard and into refrigerator. 

8:32am 10/20/2025 Animal Control Lake Leelanau, Calling about a dog in the back of a vehicle near this address. 

9:22am 10/20/2025 Neighbor Leelanau Cty., States neighbors have no trespassing order with each other starting in July of this year, caller says they have removed the property stake and have recently had verbal arguments. She would like to discuss her options. Neighbors are becoming more aggressive.

3:52pm 10/20/2025 Civil Maple City, Came home and caller is missing beds and couches.
