The Leelanau Ticker is back with a look at the most alarming, offbeat, or otherwise newsworthy calls to the Leelanau Office of Emergency Management/911 dispatch. The following is excerpted from the December 8 to December 15 call reports.

11:06am 12/8/2025 Suspicious Incident Lake Leelanau, Caller reporting plane that flies around her property, thinks she is being targeted. 

2:10pm 12/8/2025 Animal Control Kasson Twp., Dog going back and forth from one side of the road to the other, black, possibly a shepherd, looks like it has a collar. 

6:33pm 12/8/2025 Info Solon Twp., Caller was driving near a sharp corner and one of the houses near the intersection had a large spotlight on, shining it into the field across the road into traffic. Caller thought it was unsafe for drivers. 

7:51pm 12/8/2025 Suspicious Incident Maple City, Caller noticed this morning multiple locks in storage units have been cut and others were attempted to be cut. She also advised that one section of lights is no longer working. 

11:41am 12/9/2025 Suspicious Incident Elmwood Twp., Caller has a long private drive, someone came up very slowly and parked, looked like they were scoping out the place. Caller tried to make contact and they left quickly. White subaru. 

4:33pm 12/9/2025 Motor Vehicle Crash Solon Twp., White vehicle rolled over multiple times and then continued on, southbound. 

4:00pm 12/11/2025 Motor Vehicle Crash S West-Bay Shore Dr., Caller said tow company called law enforcement for crash report but no one showed up for report.

5:47pm 12/12/2025 Info E Traverse Hwy., Male dressed in dark clothing walking on the side of the road. Caller thought it was suspicious. 

9:41pm 12/13/2025 Motor Vehicle Crash Lake Leelanau, Subaru in the ditch with damage.

10:30am 12/14/2025 Info Cleveland Twp., Caller was out walking and advised that about 80% of the mailboxes around the above address have been knocked down by the snowplow. Resident believes his mailbox was personally targeted and vandalized, not by the snowplow. 

7:32pm 12/14/2025 Missing Person Leelanau Cty., Caller is reporting that her son was last seen in Suttons Bay on 11/28/2025 getting on the Bata. Subject entered as missing.

3:13pm 12/15/2025 Animal Control Solon Twp., Ongoing problem with neighbor’s dog coming into her yard.

4:44pm 12/15/2025 Suspicious Person Northport, Someone has been loitering outside the building, employees are scared to leave. All employees have been escorted to their vehicles.
