The Leelanau Ticker is back with a look at the most alarming, offbeat, or otherwise newsworthy calls to the Leelanau Office of Emergency Management/911 dispatch. The following is excerpted from the December 23 to December 29 call reports.

1:23am 12/23/2025 Suspicious Incident Northport, Reporter called dispatch, almost incoherent. Was able to make out that he wanted law enforcement to check out something at the neighbors. 

12:00pm 12/24/2025 MDOT Lake Leelanau, Someone drove through their fence, tracks led through some trees then back out onto the road.

9:29am 12/25/2025 Citizen Assist Leelanau Cty., Resident has captured a golden retriever that has been in the neighborhood for awhile if anyone is looking for it. 

6:01pm 12/26/2025 Fire Grass Empire, Large fire in the area. 

7:17pm 12/26/2025 Assault Leelanau, Enroute for possible assault. 

10:38pm 12/26/2025 Threats Maple City, Subject was making threats towards caller.

2:11pm 12/27/2025 Larceny Lake Leelnanau, Caller reporting her tractor missing from the barn. 

9:07am 12/28/2025 Leave Scene S Center Hwy., Someone hit caller’s mailbox sometime this morning.

1:48pm 12/28/2025 Animal Control Elmwood Twp., 12 pigs got loose and are wandering around the road.

6:48pm 12/28/2025 Suspicious Vehicle Kasson Twp., Caller was passerby. Small SUV off the roadway. 

6:19am 12/29/2025 Vehicle Ditch Empire, ​​Rolling up on a couple people with their hazards on. Might be stuck in a drift.
