The Leelanau Ticker is back with a look at the most alarming, offbeat, or otherwise newsworthy calls to the Leelanau Office of Emergency Management/911 dispatch. The following is excerpted from the June 6 to June 13 call reports.

7:17:02am 6/6/2023 Animal Control Kasson Twp., 2 yaks walking on the side of roadway toward M72. 

2:23:55pm 6/6/2023 Suspicious Incident Glen Arbor Twp., Employee saw gentleman walk by store, pulled what looked like a gun. 

10:39:20am 6/7/2023 Citizen Assist Kasson Twp., Caller says she can smell smoke outside but doesn’t know from where. Cannot discern if it is Canadian wildfire smoke or something else. In the area, can smell smoke and see haze. Nothing found. 

3:24:41pm 6/7/2023 Motor Vehicle Crash Elmwood Twp., Was waiting to get her son from a bus, individual struck her vehicle with the truck he was driving. 

3:33:05pm 6/7/2023 Dumping Lake Leelanau, Following a truck and trailer loaded with debris, dumping aluminum siding along the road. Lost about 4 6’ pieces and believes the driver knew he was losing his load.

8:55:23am 6/8/2023 Animal Control Northport, Dog next door barking in the middle of the night. 

8:56:52am 6/8/2023 Info S West-Bay Shore Dr., 5am someone goes down the road blaring the horn. 

11:18:04am 6/8/2023 Citizen Assist Dune Climb Beach, Wife went on another trail to get a picture; haven't seen her since.  

8:32:55pm 6/8/2023 Fire Smoke Little Traverse Lake, Smoke rising from the woods, from the Little Traverse area, don’t see any flames, fairly small area. 

 10:00:18am 6/9/2023 Suspicious Incident Leelanau Cty., Sometime in the last 2 days his car was keyed on the passenger side. 

10:59:07am 6/9/2023 Threats Leelanau Cty., Man came into the gallery and was upset about the upcoming concert. 

3:28:38pm 6/9/2023 Suspicious Person Suttons Bay Twp., HBD biker handing out beers. 

6:04:54pm 6/9/2023 Lost Property Leelanau Cty., Husband drove out of driveway. Caller’s wallet and phone were on top of the vehicle. 

1:41:19am 6/10/2023 MIP4100 Turtle Creek, GTB10 called out over air ENR to Turtle Creek for the report of a 19 year old male attempting entry to the casino.

1:46:29am 6/10/2023 Disorderly N West-Bay Shore Dr., Received a call from staff at the lodge regarding a couple arguing. 

3:24:59am 6/10/2023 Disorderly N West-Bay Shore Dr., GTB10 and GTB07 got called direct regarding the same two individuals acting up. 

1:30:42pm 6/10/2023 Harassment Main St., Subject followed them, said some things to them.

4:04:16pm 6/11/2023 Trespassing Cedar Run Rd., At the house to get her mother’s items and refusing to leave. 

11:39:23pm 6/11/2023 Suspicious Incident Empire Twp., Someone is outside her bedroom window, caller is the only one there. 

10:20:10pm 6/12/2023 Info Elmwood Twp., People sitting outside caller’s house for about a half hour. Neighbor went outside and talked to them and the people left. Ongoing issue. 

12:04:39am 6/13/2023 Suspicious Incident S Lake Michigan Dr., Suspicious lights on a boat that is now around the bend, no voices, looks like they might be filming at the edge of the lake, 2 males on the boat, no distress but seemed to be on a mission. 45-23 stopped a vehicle earlier today in Leland, the driver works for PBS and advised they would be filming something down in Empire along Lake Michigan. Couple of bow fisherman with a very bright light, finished now for evening. 

12:08:43am 6/13/2023 Disorderly Lake Leelanau, Outside throwing around things and yelling outside of residence.
