By Craig Manning | June 25, 2025
Never mind the newly-minted summer. The Bay Community Theatre in Suttons Bay is already sharing plans for autumn. The independent movie house announced its “Live at the Bay” programming for fall this week, including a mix of live music acts and stand-up comedy. The newly-announced series marks the latest season of Live at the Bay, which launched last year. Tickets for all four shows are now available for purchase on the Bay Community Theatre website.
Here’s a quick rundown of the entertainers that will be performing at the Bay as part of the series. All shows start at 7pm, with doors at 6pm.
Saturday, September 20: May Erlewine
Local singer-songwriter May Erlewine, fresh off the release of her latest album What It Takes earlier this year, will take the stage at the Bay for “a special solo evening.” Tickets are $45 in advance or $50 at the door.
Saturday, October 4: Low Gap
An independent country/Americana duo made up of brothers Gus and Phin Johnson, Low Gap has been gaining steam in the world of country music, including writeups from the likes of Rolling Stone and a recent performance at Nashville’s legendary Bluebird Café. Tix go for $20 in advance or $25 at the door.
Saturday, October 18: Westbound Situation
Described on their Bandcamp page as “chambergrass” – a blend of “the precision of classical chamber music, the rhythmic drive of bluegrass, and the colorful expression of jazz” – Westbound Situation are a violin-banjo-cello-bass quartet based in Ann Arbor. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.
Saturday, November 1: John Heffron
A stand-up comedian best known for his victory on the second season of NBC’s Last Comic Standing, John Heffron is back by popular demand after a well-received (and sold-out) show at the Bay last October. Tickets for his series-closing show are $30 in advance and $35 at the door.
