Property Watch: Parcel in Paradise
By Emily Tyra | June 6, 2022
Seven acres in Leelanau County with orchards + views + beachfront? Yes. This special combo (S. Lee Point Road, Suttons Bay; $1,790,000; MLS #1899926) came on the market month late last month, when a local cherry farmer decided to sell just the waterfront piece of orchard property as a residential building site. The parcel includes 280 feet of private frontage on Grand Traverse Bay, with views of Old Mission Peninsula. Listing agent Shelly Brunette of Real Estate One Traverse City says the buyers can work with the farmer to keep three acres currently in cherries as a working orchard if they choose. Meanwhile, the cherry growers will continue to farm the surrounding 100+ acres, with much preserved in the Leelanau Conservancy, says Brunette.
