The Leelanau Ticker is back with a look at the most alarming, offbeat, or otherwise newsworthy calls to the Leelanau Office of Emergency Management/911 dispatch. The following is excerpted from the March 18 to March 24 call reports.

5:02pm 3/18/2024 Animal Control S West-Bay Shore Dr., Ongoing problem, 2 great pyrenees seen on property via camera. 

1:28pm 3/19/2024 Dumping Suttons Bay Twp., Person dumped a bunch of trash in their dumpster, it’s overflowing with boxes, furniture, etc. Has same name on multiple boxes. Made contact with person who dumped trash. Is new to the area and unfamiliar with the public recycling receptacles. He will go back to Suttons Bay and get his items and dispose of them properly. Will call the reporter. 

2:18pm 3/19/2024 Suspicious Vehicle Elmwood Twp., Suspicious vehicle in area for last two weeks, Chevy Equinox. Caller said his wife called him outside when the man was driving by slowly. When he came outside, the man drove off quickly. Caller followed him long enough to get the plate. 

9:58am 3/20/2024 Assault Battery Northport, Someone beat up brother in the bathroom. 

11:12am 3/20/2024 Suspicious Vehicle Elmwood Twp., Weird vehicle drove by caller’s house the other day, white Chevy Equinox, stopped in front of caller’s house and stared at it before continuing, and then other neighbors in the next subdivision reported the same vehicle. 

7:07pm 3/20/2024 Fraud Leelanau Cty., Caller says that someone is posing as an FBI agent, believes that her home is tapped.

6:52pm 3/21/2024 Fire Vehicle S West-Bay Shore Dr., Gray Impala on fire. 45-01 is on the scene with car occupants, everyone is out of the car and safe. No fire, hose on the engine blew, in the process of getting roadside assistance. No fire, hose on the engine blew, in the process of getting roadside assistance. 

6:45am 3/23/2024 Family Trouble S West-Bay Shore Dr., Wife will not give him any space. Caller stated he will leave the house, don’t send anyone. He just wants it on record. 

1:54pm 3/24/2024 Harassment Leelanau Cty., If they want to pursue further action it will be a civil matter handled through the courts.
