LIFT Announces 2026 Summer Programming

By Craig Manning | May 8, 2026

Leelanau Investing for Teens (LIFT) has announced its summer programming plans for the summer of 2026. The program will run from Monday, June 22 through Wednesday, August 12, with opportunities available for students entering 6th through 12th grades next fall.

“LIFT's summer program began in 2022 on a part-time basis, and has only become more robust since then as our footprint has grown throughout Leelanau County,” says LIFT Communications Director Emily Worden. “This year's program will run throughout June, July, and August, with limited no-cost transportation available. Programming for rising 6th-8th graders will be offered three days per week, while rising 9th-12th grade students will have access to monthly or bi-monthly activities. All programming, regardless of age group, is hosted at no-cost, and is open to students residing in Leelanau County.”

An in-progress calendar for this summer’s activities can be found here, with highlights including movie days, picnics, hikes, coffee shop hangouts, sailing trips, and even a trip to Mackinac Island. Per that schedule, “most activities take place for a few hours between 10:00 AM-2:00 PM, with occasional longer days for special trips or overnight experiences.”

Families can enroll their students for summer programming via the LIFT website.
