The Leelanau Ticker is back with a look at the most alarming, offbeat, or otherwise newsworthy calls to the Leelanau Office of Emergency Management/911 dispatch. The following is excerpted from the September 17 to September 23 call reports.

9:26pm 9/17/2024 Suspicious Incident N Manitou Trl., Sedan was pulled off the road, caller was driving by and saw some young men get out of the car with what she thought was spray paint. Caller kept driving, just wanted to let us know.

8:26am 9/18/2024 Suspicious Activity Elmwood Twp., Female in the passenger seat “tweaking” out. Gallon of ice cream sitting outside the car parked in guest parking. Female detained, vehicle search.

11:21am 9/18/2024 Suspicious Person S West-Bay Shore Dr., Has video on her Ring camera of someone walking on her sidewalk yesterday.

1:22pm 9/18/2024 Road Hazard Cedar, Caller reporting that people are trying to move a house, stuck partially in driveway and on roadway, have been working on it for the past 6 hours. Spoke with foreman.

4:18pm 9/19/2024 Info Lake Leelananu, Caller keeps getting political signs taken down at his pole barn.

5:01pm 9/19/2024 Suspicious Person Northport, Suspicious male walking around the store with a backpack. Was there from 1:30-2:30 then left and came back again. Didn’t purchase anything the first time. Will be speaking to staff. If anyone gets called back this will require a two officer response. Subject was very confrontational, destroyed some property. 

11:22am 9/20/2024 Traffic Violation Northport, Caller reporting golf cart failed to stop at stop sign, cut off caller, and the driver proceeded to flip him off. Caller took a  photo of him. Wants it on record.

8:38am 9/21/2024 Citizen Assist Leelanau Cty., Has a Facebook stalker threatening him. Facebook admin advised him to contact local law enforcement. Provided advice. 

4:07pm 9/22/2024 Warrant Arrest Leelanau Cty., Called out by NPS05/Mazurek, out with a person smoking marijuana. Child support warrant, male in custody. 

6:58pm 9/22/2024 Info Solon Twp., Caller reporting a male parked in front of the house taking photos. He yelled out “Real estate photographer!” and when they approached he took off. 

7:13pm  9/22/2024 WC Found Empire Twp., Pontoon drifted onto caller’s property, tied it up to a mooring. Owner is out of town but will go direct with caller to get someone over there and get boat.

12:34pm 9/23/2024 MDOP W Harbor Hwy., Believes his neighbor cut his fence.
