The Leelanau Ticker is back with a look at the most alarming, offbeat, or otherwise newsworthy calls to the Leelanau Office of Emergency Management/911 dispatch. The following is excerpted from the September 21 to September 27 call reports.

10:33pm 9/21/2026 Suspicious Incident Bingham Twp., Caller is reporting a drone flying at all hours. The issue is it has a siren and a recording that says, “Get out”.  

4:12pm 9/22/2026 Animal Control Solon Twp., Dogs were fighting and one of the dogs is bleeding everywhere. Caller would like a phone call from a deputy when they get there. 

4:59pm 9/22/2026 Drowning North West-Bay Shore Dr., Someone in the water possibly drowning. Male in the water no life jacket. Suttons Bay does ot have the personnel for EMS, send Northport or Leland. 

11:44am 9/23/2026 Fire Vehicle Cleveland Twp., Lawn mower on fire.

11:24am 9/24/2026 Suspicious Person Lake Leelanau, Man walked up to house, walked slow back down the road. Caller advised no one should be there.

4:30pm 9/25/2026 Harassment Northport, Subject is harassing caller, causing a scene with the customers.

10:22pm 9/25/2026 Fire Dumpster Bingham Twp., Fully engulfed dumpster fire. 

11:01am 9/26/2026 Trespassing S West-Bay Shore Dr., Someone has been locked in the bathroom for 2 hours, male refusing to leave and told the workers to go away. One in custody for trespassing. 

3:31pm 9/26/2026 Traffic Violation Lake Leelanau, Caller is reporting 2 kids on motorized bikes or possible motorcycles, popping wheelies and driving aggressively all over the road. 

12:24am 9/27/2026 Suspicious Incident S West-Bay Shore Dr., Caller is staying at AirBnB and she said a little while ago someone came to the house and was knocking on the door. 

5:23pm 9/27/2026 Dumping Omena Beach, The beach trash is now full because a male and female on a golf cart came up with 2 bags full of trash and put them into the public garbage can at the beach that the caller believes is not for household trash. 

5:50pm 9/27/2026 Dumping Leelanau Cty., Upon returning home from being gone for 3 days, someone had dumped a large tree and chunks of concrete on their property.
